Top 10 Math Movies of All Time

I’ve been thinking about putting together a list of the best math movies of all time for a while now. Such a list is sure to create some controversy, so I decided it was important to be as objective as possible. As a result, I created a couple of rules before I got started. The first rule might cause the most controversy. The movie had to feature a mathematician as a major character or plot point.

Click here to buy your HP 50G on Amazon . HP graphing calculators haven’t had the highest profile the last few years, but that’s about to change with the release with the upcoming HP Prime-review. Despite the lack of new models, the HP 50g has continued to be a popular choice, in fact, the most popular graphing calculator choice among HP fans. Back in the late 90’s when I was an engineering student at the University of Illinois and my graphing calculator of choice was actually, an HP, the HP 48gx.

While it may seem unusual to put the words “math” and “scandal” together in the same sentence, it’s not without precedence. Infographic: Six Ways Your Students Are Using Technology

Interesting infographic about how our students are using technology from Internet Innovation. Things sure have changed a lot since my first weekend at the University of Illinois back in 1995 when I discovered the internet for the first time on UI’s own Mosaic browser. I can tell you with almost absolute certainty that the 1 in 4 number about teens that own smartphones is higher in my own school district.

TI-84 Plus C Debuts on Amazon

Click here to buy the TI-84 Plus C on Amazon. The all new TI-84 Plus C color calculator (review) has debuted on Amazon. Apparently, it’s been there for a while, since it’s already gathered quite a few customer reviews. Not only is the TI-Nspire CX there but also the TI-Nspire CX CAS. At the value these newer calculators provide, I’d find it hard to go with the older TI-84 feature set over a CX model, but I know there are some of you that are fiercely devoted to the TI-84 platform.

TI Offers Free Navigator Systems

Just like last year, Texas Instruments is once again offering free TI-Nspire CX Navigator systems to teachers who collect enough proofs of purchase from TI-Nspire CX’s. This year, they are requiring 60 of the purchase cards that come with the TI-Nspire CX. The deadline for submission is September 20, 2013.
