iOS 5 Crash and Burn

By Tech Powered Dad | October 13, 2011

I expected to have a post up by now reveling in the glory of iOS 5 for my iPad, since it appears to have some features that would be pretty darn nice for both students and teachers. Unfortunately, my iOS 5 upgrade has been a major fail to this point. After hours of downloading, iTunes succeeded in wiping iOS 4 right off of my iPad 2 and promptly crashing it, meaning I had absolutely nothing on the iPad. I’ve been attempting to restore (yes, I backed up), but I’m getting all sorts of error messages there too.

This is another reminder that as nifty as Apple products are, they are not bug free. So my iOS 5 report will have to wait. Hopefully, I can have something up about it soon. It’s kind of crazy that I’ve gotten to the point where I’m better at troubleshooting the kids’ TI-Nspires than I am my own iPad.

I’ve had a slow pace of posts this week in general, this being the first. I’m looking at slowing the pace in general as I work towards other projects, probably more like 1 or 2 per week as opposed to the frenetic 4 or 5 I’ve been doing so far this year. So if you pop in from time to time and I’ve gone a few days without a post, I’m not gone. Check back in a few days, and I should have something new for you.

STEM careers are the future. Will you be ready?
