In addition to this article, you may want to check out my standalone TI-Nspire CX CAS Review and my TI-89 Titanium Review. I wrote a post on this topic a couple of years ago, but with each passing year it has to be updated.

K5 Learning Review

Click here to try K5Learning.com for free. The last couple of weeks, I’ve been looking at k5learning.com, a site designed to help elementary school children learn arithmetic facts. There is a lot to like with the site. It’s affordable, offers great features to help parents track learning, has fun games integrated, is professionally produced, and is available in both English and Spanish, one of the few sites in this genre that is bilingual.

MathBlaster.com Review: This Is Not Your Parents’ Math Blaster

While I barely remember it today, the original Math Blaster, released in the late 1980’s was a popular game designed to teach kids math that showed up in the computers at my elementary school and countless others. The Math Blaster series has continued to be popular for over two decades. Today, Knowledge Adventure handles the franchise and offered me the opportunity to take a look at the latest incarnation of Math Blaster at MathBlaster.

Algebrator Review

Click here to get the best price on Algebrator by Softmath. The last few days I’ve been playing around with Softmath’s product for helping students learn algebra: Algebrator. There seems to be a lot of curiosity about this product, so I wanted to do an Algebrator review to let my readers know what the product about. As of the writing of this review, it costs $58.99, a reasonable cost for software of this type, but enough that you’ll probably want to know a little more about the software before investing in it.

TI-Nspire CX vs. Casio Prizm: It’s Apples and Oranges

Please click here to buy your TI-Nspire CX on Amazon . TI and Casio have taken very different approaches with their color calculators I’ve heard the question many times over the last few months: “What’s better, the TI-Nspire CX or Casio Prizm?” It’s a natural comparison. They’re the world’s first full color graphing calculators, both with the capability to graph on photographs, both released within a few months of each other in 2011.

TI-36X Pro Review

The amazing TI-36X Pro is now available for sale on Amazon Click here to see Amazon’s best price on this great calculator . A couple of months ago, I was flipping through a math teacher supply catalogue, looking at the pictures of the new TI-Nspire CX and Casio Prizm, when something caught my eye. It was an add for a scientific calculator that I had never seen. “TI-36X Pro Scientifc Calculator with calculus, available soon,” read the headline.

TI-36X Pro Arrives

UPDATE: I have completed my TI-36X Pro review. Still no word on the arrival that everyone is waiting for, the TI-Nspire CX. In the meantime, however, Texas Instruments has provided me with another 2011 Spring arrival to take a look at, the TI-36X Pro. As far as I know, you can’t find this in stores yet. Since it’s not a graphing calculator the 36X Pro is much less hyped. in fact, I got puzzled looks from some of the Texas Instruments reps I spoke to at NCTM when I asked about it.

Amazon’s Kindle for Math

If you are planning to buy an Amazon Kindle for your math studies, you should head on over to Amazon’s website to buy your Kindle. With so many options to help learn math in a technology age, you may have overlooked using the Amazon Kindle for math. Opinions I’ve read have been mixed on using a Kindle for math, but I think that’s easily explained. Most people have looked at using traditional textbooks ported to the Kindle.

HP SmartCalc 300s Review

Looking for an HP Smartcalc 300s? Please buy the SmartCalc on Amazon. I recently decided to try to add a few reviews of some other non-graphing calculators. Since I’ve looked a lot at Hewlett Packard’s lineup of calculators a lot recently, I thought it made sense to start with an HP SmartCalc 300s review. Who Is the HP SmartCalc 300s Designed For? The HP SmartCalc is a scientific calculator. That means if you need a graphing calculator, you’ll need to look elsewhere.
